researcher Luca Todesco has announced that he will likely release a Jailbreak
for iOS 10.1.1 very soon that will work on the iPhone 7. He has not mention
whether a iOS 10.1.1 Jailbreak will be for iPhone 7 Plus and lower devices like
iPhone 6s, iPhone 6S Plus, iPhone 6 etc or not. So for jailbreakers, do not upgrade
to the latest version of iOS 10.1, it’s better to stay on lower iOS like iOS
10.1, iOS 10.1.1. if you want to jailbreak in the near future.
The jailbreak will use a Kernel and Root exploit just released by
Project Zero Team.
iOS 10.2 I recommend to downgrade immediately to iOS 10.1.1 before Apple stops
signing in the older iOS.
As tweeted by Todesco,
“There is a high chance I will take up whatever project 0 drops and write
a full jailbreak on top of it. stay on 10.1.1, especially on iPhone 7”
He followed up, noting that “what I will be doing is provide a patch on
top of Ian’s code that removes his post-exploitation stuff”
Additionally, Todesco indicated that his code will not be opensourced and will
very difficult to reverse.
“I will not be opensourcing that and it will be heavily obfuscated. You’re
not losing anything: the code is basically unreadable lol.”
Previously, Todesco has already jailbroken successfully on iPhone 7 on iOS
10.0.1 and iOS 10.1.1. Recently he has release a JailbreakMe Style browserbased loader to re-jailbreak the Pangu iOS 9.3.3 jajilbreak which easily gets
your device in the jailbreak state.
