Facebook Introduces ‘Messenger Rooms’ for Community Video calls

The launch of ‘Messenger Rooms’ has been revealed by Facebook, new joinable community video calls to connect with friends, loved ones and people with common interests. You can create a room from Messenger or Facebook and even if they don’t have a Facebook account, invite someone to join. Shortly there will be up to 50 people in rooms with no time limit.

You can start and share rooms on Facebook through News Feed, Groups and Events, so it’s easy for people to drop by. Soon we’ll add ways to create rooms from Instagram Direct, WhatsApp and Portal, too.

Messenger Rooms are rolling out this week in select countries and will extend to the rest of the world in the coming weeks, including the United States. In the coming months new features will be introduced.

Is this a good alternative to FaceTime or Zoom app or any other? Let’s see and drop your feedback in the comment box.
