Apple has leaked a very huge information and feature about
the upcoming iPhone 8. The leak came on while it was trying to provide
information about its recently launched speaker, HomePod.
Last week, when Apple published HomePod firmware for its
developers, it also ended up providing information about the upcoming iPhone 8
accidently. Developer Steven-Troughton Smith has been digging into the
HomePod’s firmware file and found some interesting information from it.
According to him, iPhone 8 might come with Tap to Wake
support similar to other smartphones in the market. The Tap to Wake support
will allow users to simply wake their devices simply by tapping anywhere in the
screen.

He also confirms that the iPhone 8 will come with a 3x Retina
Display with an 1125×2436 resolution. In addition to that Steve confirms that
the iPhone 8 will come with Face ID and the bezel – less notch display design
technology. Also the iPhone 8 will have a new status bar with powerful system
integration into it.

As this report comes directly from Apple, it’s almost
confirmed that the iPhone 8 will have all these mentioned features into it. The
iPhone 8 is said to launch this year along with iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus.
