According to Apple, the iOS 13 Public Beta will be available this month.
Apple released iOS 13 and iPadOS 13 beta 2 to developers yesterday with the developer portal again pointing out that, unless absolutely necessary, users should wait until the public beta. That public beta will be listed next month, but as one of our readers noted, the actual release notes say it’s coming this month.
With this beta round, Apple took the unusual step to suggest that “thrill seekers” should hang fire before updating. That message has been on Apple’s developer portal downloads page since the first beta arrived, suggesting that next month’s public beta will arrive. That’s not what the iOS 13 and iPadOS 13 beta 2 release notes say, though, as we mentioned earlier.
Important Note for Thrill Seekers: If you’re interested in living on the edge and trying out the great new features in iOS & iPadOS 13, we strongly advise waiting for the many bug fixes and refinements coming to the public beta later this month.
If that’s true, we’ll see the fabulous public beta sooner than expected, though potentially only by a few days. It is also possible that this is just a typo, and the “next month” timeframe is even more accurate.
Either way, with beta 2 now more than a day in the wild, it is clear that initial feedback is indeed very positive. Users have reported that many issues with both iOS 13 and iPadOS 13 beta 1 have been fixed, and we know that there have been many new features and changes since that release.
With that in mind, things may progress better than expected, pulling that public beta a little forward. We’re going to know enough soon.
