According to a WSJ report, Apple is
planning to unveil a new iPhone 8 with an OLED display with new function area and
will replace the Lightning connector with a USB-C connector. Apple switched to
Lightning connector from the 30-pin Dock connector for iOS devices with the
release of iPhone 5 in 2012 and MacBook Pro models has already implemented the
USB type C by ditching the USB ports. So it’s hard to believe whether Apple
will ditch lightning connector for USB-C or not.

KGI Securities analyst Ming Chi-Kuo’s claims that Apple plans to release three
iPhone models this year and among them two models are set to feature
traditional LCDs and the third one will have an OLED screen.
