Report: LG Display to Supply 3-5 Million OLED Panels for Upcoming iPhones

New report from Korea Times claims that LG will supply OLED panels for 2018 iPhone models. That means Apple will soon use the display produced by LG.

“Initially, Apple will get between 3 million and 5 million OLED displays from LG Display. LG plans to increase its production capacity,” said an industry official familiar with the matter.

Apple already faced a shortage of OLED display panel for iPhone X model. So it has made a deal to use LG display as a secondary supplier.

The major display & other component supplier for Apple used to be Samsung.

Apple is set to launch three new iPhone models this year where two of them will have OLED displays. With LG supplying its OLED panels for these models, there should not be any shortages this time.
