Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said that Apple plans to release high-end iPad and MacBook models with Mini-LED displays between late 2020 and mid-2021. Kuo earlier said the iPad and Macbook model will have 10-12 inches and 15-17 inches display respectively, even he expects that devices to be high-end-device due to costly Mini-LED display components. It is surely that the device is to be on the market between Late 2020 and Mid 2021, but Kuo has not specified.
Although the medium-sized OLED displays had moderately improved and the wide color gamut performance of OLED is comparable to that of Mini-LED. Kuo believes the Mini-LED is Apple’s choice to avoid the burn-in issue.
Kou trust that Mini-LED display will let for a thinner and lighter product device including the good wide color gamut performance, High contrast, and HDR and local dimming, which turn down the backlight behind areas of the screen that are displaying black while keeping the bright parts of the screen brightness.
Apple plans to release the iPad in the middle of the fourth quarter of 2020 and the first quarter of 2021 likewise the MacBook is to be released in the first quarter and second quarter of 2021, according to Kuo.
