Apple started Selling ‘Assembled in India’ iPhone SE with no lower Price tag

According to the reports the
IndianExpress, Apple has started selling first iPhone SE units with ‘Assembled
in India’
iPhones in many cities including the Bangaluru where iPhones (iPhone
SE) are being assembled by Apple’s contract manufacturer Wistron in Bengaluru.

iPhone SE “Assembled in India” carry same price as around the World. Apple did
not lower the price of the iPhone which are assembled in India due to the Apple’s
policy.

The phones are priced the same as other
models manufactured in China. Apple has a policy of keeping the pricing more or
less the same across the globe. However, it is clear that the company has chose
iPhone SE for local manufacture as it is a more affordable model and would
hence appeal to buyers in a price sensitive market like India.

After the production of iPhones in
India, the back print of an iPhone changes to “Designed by Apple in California,
Assembled in India”
whereas previously it was written as “Designed by Apple in
California, Assembled in China”
. So it’s a big change for India and great
revenue for Apple.

Apple iPhone SE is currently available on Flipkart
with a special discount at Rs 21,999 for the 32GB version. The original price
of iPhone SE id Rs 27,200. Whereas Flipkart is selling the 16GB version of the
Apple iPhone SE for Rs 20,999 compared to the original price of Rs 26,999. Likewise,
64GB version of the iPhone SE is still retailing at Rs 27,490 on Flipkart.
