Apple to add 3D sensors & 5G to two iPhone models in 2020

According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple is planning to add 3D time-of-flight (ToF) sensors to two iPhone models ‘ rear cameras by 2020 where time-of-flight camera system determines the distance between the camera and the subject for each point of the image by measuring the time it takes to leave the camera for a laser or LED light to reflect back.

Furthermore, Kuo also predicts that all three 2020 iPhones will be equipped with Face ID.

We predict that three new 2H20 iPhone models will all be equipped with Face ID, and two of the new models will provide rear ToF. We estimate that shipments of front and rear VCSEL (front structure light and rear ToF) iPhone models will be 45mn in 2020.

Along with that he predicted that there would be a 5 G modem for all 2020 iPhones.
