How to make iPhone Speak Name/Number of a caller in iOS 10 – 11

” feature in your iPhone running iOS 10 and iOS 11. Well the “Announce
Calls
” feature makes your iPhone speak the name or number of a caller whenever
you have an incoming call.

The “Announce Calls” feature was
introduced in iOS 10 back in 2016. The “Announce Calls” feature in iPhone takes
the help of Siri to announce the caller’s names or number. Basically Siri
announces the caller’s name or number whenever there is an incoming call.
Suppose you are driving a car and there
is an incoming call; the “Announce Calls” feature in your iPhone will speak the
name of a person that is calling you. You don’t even have to look at your
iPhone. Siri will speak up it for you.
Note: Siri only speak the name of a caller
if only you have saved the name and number of the caller in your contact list. Otherwise
it will just speak up number for you if you have not saved the caller
information.
How to enable “Announce Calls” feature
in iPhone running iOS 10 – 11


Announce Calls” feature makes your iPhone speak the name or number of a caller whenever you have an incoming call.

Step 1: Launch Settings from your
Home-Screen
Step 2: Scroll down and find Phone and
then tap it

Step 3: Tap on “Announce Calls” option
under “Calls” Section
Step 4: Here you will see 3 different
options to choose from. This means in which condition you want your iPhone to
speak name of a caller:
  • Always: If you choose always, your
    iPhone will announce the caller’s name or number in any situation.
  • Headphone & Car: If you choose
    Headphone & Car, your iPhone will announce the caller’s name or number only
    when you have plugged in your headphone or if your device is connected to the
    car.
  • Headphone Only: If you choose Headphone only,
    your iPhone will announce the caller’s name or number only when you have
    plugged in your headphone.
Step 5: Tap on one of these option as
per your preference.
So in this way you can enable “Announce
Calls
” feature in your iPhone running iOS 10 and iOS 11.
