Android may be getting its own version like Apple’s 3D Touch [Video]

According to reports from Mashable, Google
has confirmed that the Android N will work with pressure a sensitive display
that is Google is soon launching 3D Touch for Android N like Apple’s 3D Touch and
noted that the new home screen shortcuts feature offered a nice counterpoint to
Apple’s 3D Touch. That is Android users may soon get their own version of
Apple’s 3D Touch. So will it be nice and more advance than Apple’s 3D
Touch?

3D Touch lets you access quick actions from the icons on your home screen but Phandroid was able to get the feature
working using a swipe down action instead of a deep press for demonstration
purposes.

Though Phandroid’s example relies on specific gestures – like a swipe down – to
activate the shortcuts, the feature will also work with pressure sensitive
displays, Google confirmed to Mashable. This means developers will be able to
use the feature to create experiences for pressure sensitive handsets like the
Huawei Mate S and ZTE Axon mini that can also work on other devices.

It will probably launch this feature
along with other Android updates at Google’s upcoming I/O developer
conference next month.
