An Australian high school teenager hacked into Apple’s server and copied 90GB of secured data into his computer.
According to The Age, the teen who was only 16 years old (the name is hidden due to legal reasons) continued to get into Apple’s server for quite some time until he succeeded. The boy was said to include “authorised keys” that grant login access to users.
Apple immediately detected the unauthorized access and reported FBI. The FBI then started the investigation and found out the unusual activity was performed in Australia. The Australian Federal Police also joined the investigation and traced the boy with the help of his Macbook serial number.
Two Apple laptops were seized and the serial numbers matched the serial numbers of the devices which accessed the internal systems.
A mobile phone and hard drive were also seized and the IP address … matched the intrusions into the organization.
The 90GB downloaded material was saved in a folder named “hacky hack hack”.
