How to Turn on “Do Not Disturb while Driving” feature in iOS 11 on iPhone

Previously there was only Do Not Disturb feature on older iOS for Night use only and due to the importance Apple has again added a new do not disturb functionality in iOS 11
called Do Not Disturb while Driving.

Driving is very important and you might get many notifications and alerts while driving, you should never pick the calls and reply to any notifications while you are driving. But if you don’t want that random notifications or alerts on your iPhone while driving, then with iOS 11 installed on your iPhone you can enable Do Not Disturb while Driving feature
for your safety.

With Do Not Disturb While Driving enabled in iOS 11, it silence your all messages, phone calls & notifications while you are driving and protects you from any distraction.

Follow the steps to enable or turn on Do Not Disturb While Driving feature in iOS 11 from Control Center.

You need to first add DNDWD toggle to your Control Center. It is done via Settings app.

#1. Go to Settings app on your iOS device

 

#2. Tap on Control Center

 

#3. Now, tap on Customize Controls

 

#4. Simply tap on the “+” button left to Do Not Disturb While Driving in more controls section

#1. Swipe up to access Control Center.

#2. Now, tap on the Car icon to turn on Do Not Disturb While Driving (DNDWD)

Now, you will get the notification saying you won’t receive any alerts while you are driving.

#1. Same as above Swipe up to access Control Center

#2. Now, tap on the Car icon to turn off the Do Not Disturb While Driving feature.

Note: When you are in Lock screen and Do Not Disturb While Driving Enabled, simply tap or 3D touch on the DNDWD notification or when pressing the home button, tap on I’m Not Driving to turn off.

You can customize Do Not Disturb While Driving DNDWD functionality even more in iOS 11;

#1. Go to Settings on your iOS device

 

#2. Tap on Do Not Disturb

#3. Scroll down and Tap on Activate under “Do Not Disturb While Driving.”

 

#4. You can see three options here:

Automatically >> When Connected to Car Bluetooth & >> Manually

#5. Choose any of the options as your choice.

Likewise, you can set Auto-Reply to and Message While Driving.

How to Set Auto-Reply for Do Not Disturb While Driving in iOS 11

#1. Go to Settings app >> Do Not Disturb.

#2. Now, scroll down and tap on Auto-Reply To

Here you have a list of options for the Auto reply message to No One, Recents, Favorites & All Contacts.

#3. You can choose any options

#4. You can also Set the Auto-Reply Message for Do Not Disturb While Driving in the Auto-Reply option.

That’s it. It’s done. You have now successfully enabled Do Not Disturb While Driving in iOS 11 on iPhone/iPad.
