Apple allowed users to gift an App to friends and family and now there is one more addition and that is you can now gift in-app purchase to your loved ones. In-App purchase is buying of features from within the apps.
This is a very special feature for parents who want to set up with their child’s Apple ID without parent’s payment information. Now all they can do is gift the in-app purchase.
MacRumors has reported the change Apple made with the App Store Review Guidelines text as following:
Before: “Apps should not directly or indirectly enable gifting of in-app purchase content, features, or consumable items to others.”
Now: “Apps may enable gifting of items that are eligible for in-app purchase to others. Such gifts may only be refunded to the original purchaser and may not be exchanged.”
The feature has not been turned on yet and it’s still unknown when this feature will be released but it is more likely that it will be available by the next iOS update.
